I made this Minnie Mouse Clubhouse fondant cake for my friend’s daughter on her fourth birthday back in August. I love every details of this cake! The hot air balloon cake topper was a bit of a challenge for me as it took me several trials to get it right. I was glad I finally did it =)
The inside of this cake was a three-layer chocolate cake with vanilla latte Swiss meringue buttercream filling. The cake was then covered with dark chocolate ganache before fondant was draped over. It was homemade marshmallow fondant by the way. Yum.

What you need for the hot air balloon cake topper:
Drape fondant over a styrofoam ball.
Smooth surface like crazy.
Make fingers and rim.
For the basket, cut a waffle cone in half like so.
Trim fondant with a pizza cutter like so.
Stick fondant pieces to the waffle cone.
Wrap three wooden skewers with fondant.
Put everything in place.
Cut out decorations then glue onto the cake and the fondant wrapped cake board.
Personalize the name plaque.
Place everything else on top.
